Water Contamination and Risks from Hot and Cold Water Systems
Hot and cold water services can cause serious risk to health,it is therefor incumbent that the Property Services Manager Owner/Landlord or Responsible Person for the
premises be aware of their duty to maintain a water system fully compliant with the Approved Code of Practice L8, HSG274 part 2 Guidence Document and BS 8558 - Guide to design, installation,testing, operation and maintenance of services supplying water within
buildings and their curtilages.
Our Disinfection Procedure
Prior to any maintenance we would thoroughly flush your system and remove any foreign objects scall or grime before commencing with our disinfection procedures.
The water
tank/system shall be filled with chlorinated water at an initial concentration of 50 mg/l (ppm) for a contact period of 1 hour.
After successful chlorination, the system would then be immediately drained and flushed with clean water. The flushing will
continue until the free residual chlorine is at a level present in the drinking water supply.
